WATCH: Train Station’s Top Cat Earns Mouse-Catching Promotion, And Her Own Uniform
Felix the cat has been working like a puppy, catching vermin from Huddersfield train station in England.
And she’s now been rewarded with the official title of “senior pest controller” — which comes with this ridiculously cute uniform 😛 TAGEND
Felix, who’s paid in cat treats, arrived at the station when she was just nine weeks old, according to ITV News. She has since spent thousands of hours keeping the platforms free of pigeons, rats and other unwelcome intruders.
During her downtime, she’s often seen watching over personnel in the cosy ticket office or sitting next to passengers waiting for the next train, the Huddersfield Examiner reports.
And when the station installed security barriers, she got her very own cat flap to get in and out of work.
A Facebook account documenting Felix’s daily routines amassed more than 17,000 adherents after news of her promotion went viral.
But staff members told Metro that her new-found fame “hasn’t quite gone to her head.”
“As with most cats they already guess the world revolves around them, ” one employee said. “She’s getting more treats and more attention so all in all she’s very happy.”
